A yoga store in Mumbai has been selling cat-friendly yoga classes.
The Cat Yoga Club in the southern city of Thane sold the yoga classes and cat yoga mat to a client for about ₹15,000 ($2,000).
The business owner, Suresh Sharma, said the business has been going strong since it started in 2013.
“It was just after my graduation and we were selling yoga mats to the public.
It was just a matter of time before the cat started coming back,” he said.
“Now, we are getting more cat customers every month.
We have now sold over 1,500 yoga mats.
People want to learn cat yoga.”
Sharma has had to hire more cat yoga teachers and staff members.
“We have had to give them more shifts,” he added.
The yoga class for cat owners will be held from Tuesday, February 15.
“The classes will start at 4 am and will be conducted in the evening,” Sharma said.
The cat yoga mats have a cloth cover to prevent it from scratching the skin.
